At Untangle Money, we value your privacy and the confidentiality of personal information in our possession and control. This Privacy Policy explains the measures we take to fulfill our commitment to privacy and describes the manner in which Untangle Money collects, uses, discloses and otherwise treats personal information through our websites available at www.untangle.money, including all subpages and successor pages (collectively referred to as the “Sites”) as well as through interactions with our customers and prospective customers in providing our services. To make this Privacy Policy easier to read, the Sites and our services are collectively called our “Services.”
We do not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, services or applications, even if they are accessible through our Services.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to our personal information practices. We strongly encourage you to refer to this Privacy Policy often for the latest information about our personal information practices.
We take privacy seriously.
Untangle Money’s Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) is responsible for ensuring that Untangle Money adheres to its Privacy Policy. The CCO is responsible for training our employees in our privacy policies and for monitoring the fulfillment of our privacy commitments. We invite any customer or prospective customer to contact the CCO at hello@untangle.money for any additional clarification desired. A customer wishing to review his or her personal information in our possession should send a written request to this effect to Untangle Money’s CCO.
We ask our customers for no more personal information than necessary.
Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, to support your use of the Services, and to help you enjoy and easily navigate our Services.
If you register for our Services and create an account, we collect certain information that can be used to identify you, such as your first name or nickname, email address, phone number, or other contact information (“PII”).
In providing our Services, we will ask for additional summary information required for financial planning, such as age, income, expenses, debts and assets (“AFI”), but do not require this information to be of a specific nature that may identify you personally. The value and relevance of the financial planning information we develop for you through our Services is dependent on the accuracy and completeness of the information we receive from you. However, the information you provide is entirely voluntary.
We limit the use of your personal information.
The personal information we collect is used for the following purposes:

Providing our Services: When you use our Services, the information (AFI) you choose to provide will be used to develop and deliver financial planning information that is as relevant to you, as possible. Based upon the information you provide, we may also highlight third party services we select that may be relevant to your financial goals.

Customer Service: As required, we may communicate with you through various channels including telephone, computer, email or other channels using the contact information you provide (PII) to respond to questions, comments, or complaints. We may request additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment or complaint. We may retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service and product and service offerings.

Marketing Communications: If you consent, we may send you email, SMS text messages and other communications about Untangle Money products, services, or events that may be of interest to you. You can opt-out of receiving marketing and promotional email from us by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in each of our email communications. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from any of our marketing communications by contacting us at hello@untangle.money.
Employment: If you inquire about or apply for a job with Untangle Money, you may provide us with certain personal information about yourself (such as that contained in a resume, cover letter, or similar employment-related materials). We use this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities.
How we collect personal information.
Except as otherwise set out in this Privacy Policy, we collect personal information directly from you. Information may be requested through online forms, or through communication with our staff.
We limit access to customers’ personal information.
We record personal information electronically on computer servers to which only authorized persons have access, and only by means of secure passwords. We authorize employees and service providers to have access to customers’ personal information only on a “need to know” basis in order to fulfill their company responsibilities.
As an added precaution, where possible, account information (PII) is stored separately from any summary financial information (AFI) to further anonymize personal information, where possible. We limit staff who have access to both PII and AFI.
We implement safeguards to protect personal information.
Untangle Money maintains reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards in an effort to protect personal information in our custody and control against unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure of. We train our employees to keep customers’ personal information strictly private and confidential. We require all of our staff to sign our privacy document that obliges them to respect and protect customers’ personal information. We ensure that departing staff understand they remain contractually obliged to respect the privacy of customers’ personal information.
Your online access to certain of your personal information is protected with a password you select. We strongly recommend that you do not disclose your password to anyone. We will never ask you for your password in any unsolicited communication (such as letters, phone calls or email messages).
We retain personal information of our customers and prospective customers for no longer than necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or to otherwise meet legal requirements.
Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing electronic information is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
We restrict disclosure of personal information.
We will not disclose, trade, rent, sell or otherwise transfer your personal information, without your consent, except as otherwise set out in this Privacy Policy.

Service Providers: We may transfer your personal information to our affiliates and other third party service providers who provide various services on our behalf such as identity verification, technology, administration, printing, marketing and advertising, hosting, data analysis, legal and accounting.
Business Transactions: We may transfer any information we have about you as an asset in connection with a prospective or completed merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of Untangle Money or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control, including for the purpose of determining whether to proceed or continue with such transaction or business relationship.

Legal: We cooperate with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate: (i) to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas); (ii) to protect our property, rights and safety and the property, rights and safety of a third party or the public in general; and (iii) to stop any activity that we consider illegal, unethical or legally actionable activity.
We expect similar safeguards from our service providers.
Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for their own marketing or other purposes. Your personal information may be maintained and processed by our affiliates and other third party service providers in the US or other jurisdictions. In the event personal information is transferred to the US or other foreign jurisdiction, it will be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be disclosed to or accessed by the courts, law enforcement and governmental authorities in accordance with the laws of those jurisdictions.
We will provide you with access to your information.
Individuals have the right to access, update, and correct inaccuracies in his/her personal information in Untangle Money’s custody and control, subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law. An individual wishing to request access, updating and corrections of inaccuracies in other of his or her personal information in our possession or control may do so through options available within our Services or may send a written request to this effect to Untangle Money’s CCO at hello@untangle.money. We may request certain personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the individual seeking access to their personal information records.
We collect and use information about your visit to our Sites.
In general, you can visit our Sites without indicating who you are or submitting any personal information. However, we collect and/or maintain the IP (Internet protocol) addresses of all visitors to our Sites and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on the Sites. We use this information to help us understand the activity on our Sites and to monitor and improve the Sites. Please note that the Sites do not have the capability to respond to “Do Not Track” signals received from various web browsers.

Cookies & Similar Technologies: The Sites uses a technology called “cookies”. A cookie is a tiny element of data that the Sites can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your hard drive so that you can be recognized when you return. Tracer Tags & Web Beacons: The Sites may also use a technology called “tracer tags” or “Web Beacons”. This technology allows us to understand which pages you visit on the Sites. These tracer tags are used to help us optimize and tailor the Sites for you and other future visitors to the Sites.
